Why $38.5B budget deal will only cut spending by $352M. Budget Cut Lies?

The macroeconomic reality is that to cut government spending drastically would plunge us right into the D-word, so they postured and made threatening gestures and intimidated each other over a symbol. It was safer that way, and both sides knew it, except, perhaps fro some of the TEA Party candidates (but even most of them are Republican retreads well aware of the realities of the role of government in the economy.)
